Navajo made Baskets are of traditional and contemporary Navajo and Ute designs. They will have a Willow Tree branch rod coiled to which strips of Sumac is used to cover the rods. Devils Claw is traditionally used for the black color while other colors are obtained from other plants. Used baskets are obtained from Medicine men after it has been used in a healing ceremony. Our new Baskets come mainly now from area around Shonto and Navajo Moundtain on the Navajo Indian Reservation.
